Go has Irish Festivals aim

Let Yourself Go, winner of three of his last four races, but not seen in action since Galway, at the end of October, is being geared for a campaign on home soil in the spring.

The Zaffaran gelding was sent off 11/10 favourite for the Grade 3 Barna Waste Ballybrit Novice Chase on his most recent outing, but in quite a slowly run affair on the heavy ground, he couldn’t raise his effort after making the running, succumbing after two out, eventually keeping on at the one pace to finish fourth of the six.

Trainer Adrian Maguire said of the eight-year-old this afternoon: "He is on the way back from a break and we hope to get to Fairyhouse and Punchestown with him. The bit of better ground in the spring should certainly suit him.

"We're frozen solid here but we'll have to put with what we have, it's as simple as that."
