Denis Hogan and Dan King combined for a quick double at Limerick this afternoon as God Of Thunder scooted clear late on for a cosy victory in the four-year-old plus maiden hurdle.

The Tagula gelding settled behind the leaders in the two-miler before moving through smoothly to dispute going to the second last.

King sent his mount on before the last and the 7/1 shot soon asserted, going on to post a seven-length success over Harry’s Legacy without having to engage top gear.

God Of Thunder, twice a winner on the Flat in England, had been third over timber at Navan just ten days ago.

"I was impressed with him each day I rode him but I really think he enjoyed himself today and it is good he showed what he is capable of,” said King.

"I really do think the jumping has sweetened him up and even at home, he loves the schooling. He likes the bit of nicer ground and hopefully there are plenty more races to be won with him."
