The going for the first day of Royal Ascot is Good to Soft, and the seven races get under way at 1.15pm.

Miss O Connor is a notable non runner in the Duke Of Cambridge Stakes at 4.10pm. Queen Power is popular with punters for this Group 2.

Archie Watson's Glen Shiel has been backed from 20/1 to 12/1 for the opening Buckingham Palace Handicap.

Pyledriver is attracting support at big odds for the Group 2 King Edward VII Stakes at 3pm.

Battaash is easy to back (8/13 - 10/11) for the Group One King's Stand Stakes over five furlongs at 3.35pm. His main market rivals Glass Slippers and Liberty Beach are both shortening.

Land Of Oz is the one for money in the concluding Ascot Stakes over an extended two miles three furlongs at 4.40pm.

Meanwhile, the ground in Fairyhouse ahead of racing on Thursday is Good to Firm, Firm in places. Heavy showers are forecast and the track is monitoring the situation regarding further watering.

Elsewhere, the going at Naas in advance of Saturday's action is Good to Firm, Firm in places. There is an unsettled forecast and the racecourse is monitoring the situation regarding watering.

The ground at Leopardstown is Good to Firm (watering). A mainly dry week is forecast with the chance of passing heavy showers. The track hosts racing on Sunday.
