Going updates Gowran race on the Flat today with a 1.20pm start. The ground is now yielding after 6mm of rain overnight. It’s dry there at present but there’s a risk of showers, some heavy, during racing. Tramore stages a seven-race NH card starting at 4.40pm and the ground is good after 5mm of rain yesterday. The Curragh race tomorrow and it’s good to yielding (straight) and good, good to yielding in places on the round course. There’s a forecast of thundery showers later today. Galway had 14mm of rain overnight and the latest going description is yielding (Flat) and good, good to yielding in places (NH). A mostly dry weekend is forecast, and then there’s a risk of approximately 8-10 mm of rain in the early hours of Monday before the seven-day Festival gets under way that afternoon.
