Soft ground remains at the racecourses set to stage racemeetings this week, with Gowran’s prestigious Thyestes Chase Day set to take centre stage on Thursday.

The ground at the Kilkenny course is currently soft, with a forecast of mainly cold weather and the possibility of 6mm of rain prior to racing.

Fairyhouse races on Saturday where the ground is also soft, with a mainly dry midweek forecast which will turn very unsettled towards weekend.

The ground at NaasRacecourse, which races on Sunday, is soft, yielding to soft in places with rain and wind moving in Thursday evening through Friday with possibility of 10-15mm of rain at the Kildare course.
