Following 4mm of rain since entries were made, Navan racecourse is currently soft to heavy ahead of Saturday’s fixture with a mainly dry forecast upcoming. The ground at Downroyal, which races on Tuesday, is yielding, soft in places on the hurdle course and yielding, good to yielding in places on the chase track. There is the possibility of 10-15mm of rain up to Tuesday. Gowran’s flagship Thyestes meeting takes place on Thursday where the going is currently soft. There is an unsettled forecast at the Kilkenny course, with a cold weekend likely and the possibility of rain early next week.
