The Curragh’s going continues to dry out due to the warm spell of weather, ahead of this weekend’s Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby weekend.

The three-day festival begins on Friday with the Fitzpatrick's Mercedes-Benz Apprentice Derby and the O'Driscolls Irish Whiskey Irish EBF Stayers Handicap taking centre stage, while on Saturday the €400,000 Group 1 Paddy Power Pretty Polly Stakes is the main event and on Sunday the Derby takes place.

Following a dry and warm evening yesterday, the going is now good on the straight course and good, good to firm in places on the round. There is a reduced possibility of isolated thunder showers on Friday with 1-4mm forecast for Saturday morning and 1-3mm set to arrive on Sunday morning, according to Met Éireann

Meanwhile at Naas, which races today, the going is now good, good to yielding in places, with temperatures to rise to the mid to high 20s.
