The ground at Punchestown for today's meeting which begins at 12.45 remains heavy (8mm rain overnight).

At Fairyhouse (tomorrow) it's soft to heavy, heavy in places. The weather forecast says it will remain unsettled with showers, some heavy, today and tomorrow.

Down in the south east at Tramore where they also race on New Year's Day it's heavy (hurdle) and heavy, soft in places (chase) following 20mm of rain overnight.

At Cork (Saturday) meanwhile, it remains unfit for racing due to flooding (further 8mm rain overnight). The situation continues to be monitored.
