Inothewayurthinkin has returned to trainer Gavin Cromwell’s yard as the Cheltenham Gold Cup winner begins preparations for the upcoming season, although race plans are as yet undecided.

The J.P. McManus-owned seven-year-old was an easy winner of the Kim Muir Chase at Cheltenham in 2024 and while well beaten in his initial three runs in open company last season, was a late £25,000 supplementary entry for the Gold Cup in March, when famously defeating Galopin Des Champs.

Inothewayurthinkin signed off for the season by bypassing the Punchestown festival and instead returned to McManus’ Martinstown Stud for a summer break.

Trainer Cromwell states “Inothewayurthinkin is back with us for ten days now, he is just trotting for the moment and looks great, fantastic.

"We haven't had the conversation yet about any race targets but we'll get him going first and then make a plan somewhere along the way."

Inothewayurthinkin’s 2024/’25 campaign involved contesting the John Durkan Chase, Savills Chase, Irish Gold Cup and Cheltenham Gold Cup with all those same options again being open to him.
