Gowran's fixture for April 3 is cancelled Gowran's flat season curtain raiser on April 3 has been cancelled due to the course being unfit for racing following a prolonged recent wet period. Clerk of the course Paddy Graffin reports “following a very trying time for all racecourses and their teams, unfortunately we needed to make an early decision to cancel Gowran Park next Wednesday, April 3. "Despite being over a week away, the track is not going to come right in time for Flat racing next week following a very wet winter and particularly this month. There is also further rain to come between now and next Wednesday. "It is an unfortunate start to our Flat season but we felt it was important to let people know early. We will talk to Horse Racing Ireland with a view to forming a plan for rescheduling the fixture in due course."
