Grand Crus set for chasing debut on Friday

Top-class hurdler Grands Crus could make his chasing debut at Cheltenham on Friday.

The six-year-old could take his chance in the Steel Plate And Sections Novices' Chase and trainer David Pipe is looking forward to him tackling the larger obstacles.

"Tom Scudamore has been down and schooled him at home and he has jumped nicely," Pipe revealed to Attheraces.

"Hopefully he can transfer that to the track but we are very pleased with what he has done so far.

"He can be a bit keen in his races early on so it will be important that we get him relaxed."
