Great Voltigeur an option for Ulysses Sir Michael Stoute's Ulysses could bid to get his career back on track in the Betway Great Voltigeur Stakes at York on August 17. Regally bred, by Galileo and out of Oaks winner Light Shift, he ran in the Derby on the back of and eight-length maiden win at Newbury. Things did not go his way at Epsom and he could only finish 12th of the 16 runners but conections retain the faith that he is a smart colt. Alan Cooper, racing manager to owners Flaxman Stables Ireland Ltd, said: "The horse is doing well. "We've given him an entry in the Great Voltigeur and will give him plenty of time to get over the Derby. "Sir Michael will decide nearer the time if that is the right race for him. "He got a bump in the Derby but the Derby is the Derby, we're not going to make any excuses and we'll go forward from here. "We haven't discussed the St Leger, we'll just take it one race at a time, we need to get him back on track."
