Green Dreamer utilised the experience of his opening fifth at Killarney to beat newcomer Shakespeare in the Frank Conroy Irish EBF Maiden over a mile in Leopardstown.

Dylan Browne McMonagle soon sent his mount into the lead and set his own fractions as 4/9 Shakespeare and Ryan Moore tracked in second throughout.

The pursuer ran slightly wide off the home bend and wandered slightly when asked for his effort in the final furlong. At this stage, Green Dreamer kept finding and saw it out well by two lengths for trainer Joseph O'Brien.

"He had a nice debut run and we thought that he'd improved," said O'Brien.

I'd say probably the first three are good horses and it was a good race. The second horse (Shakespeare) looked green and our horse was very genuine and straight.

"He'll probably step into one of those mile stakes races now.

"Nice horse for the double green team (Simon Munir and Isaac Souede) and he was well bought by Anthony Bromley again."
