Green Empress reigns supreme in the Debutante Green Empress opens her account at the third attempt in the Group 2 Alpha Centauri Debutante Stakes at the Curragh for Joseph O'Brien, giving him a treble on the day. The daughter of Saxon Warrior finished second in a Group 2 on her last start behind the impressive York scorer Sun Goddess. The 11/4 shot seemed to be boxed in on the rail in the closing stages; however, Dylan Browne McMonagle, who scored for the fourth time on the card, managed to get her switched out in the nick of time, and The Thoroughbred Racing Corporation's filly got up close home to score by a neck from Dancing Destiny (12/1). The 4/6 favourite Alpha, made the running and was a further half-length behind in third. "Her form has worked out very well. Dylan gave her a lovely ride. I'm really delighted for Prince Faisal to be able to be here. To win the Debutante is very special for us and for him,” commented O’Brien. “She had a bit of a setback after her last run so we thought that fitness wise she probably would need the race today.
