Ground eases at Galway after significant rainfall Following 18mm of rain yesterday, the ground has eased at Galway ahead of the opening day of the 2022 festival meeting. It's now soft on the Flat track, yielding on the hurdle track and good to yielding on the chase track. Mixed cards return this year and this evening's seven-race programme comprises two hurdle races, four on the Flat and a bumper. The day one feature is the 110,000 Euros Connacht Hotel (Q.R.) Handicap at 6.40 pm. It's set to be mainly dry today and over the coming days until a change to wetter weather on Friday and into the weekend.
