Ground eases at Killarney

The three-day August Festival at Killarney gets underway today, with the ground at the Co Kerry venue easing after overnight rain.

It's currently yielding on the Flat track and good on the National Hunt circuit, with racing taking place on the level this evening.

Light rain is forecast to continue until lunchtime with further showery weather likely between now and Saturday.

Racing takes place at the Curragh on Saturday where it remains good, good to firm in places.

Approximately five to six millimetres of rain is forecast for today, with further showers possible for tomorrow and Saturday.

The action moves to Bellewstown on Tuesday and Wednesday next, with the ground there good to firm, firm in places on the National Hunt track, while it’s good to firm on the Flat course.

Watering commenced last week and is ongoing, with low forecast rain amounts.

Navan is scheduled to take place next Thursday, with the ground there good to firm. Watering is also in operation at the Proudstown venue.
