Padraig Roche is hoping to get another run into in-form gelding Neddyvaughan before the ground changes.

The St Jovite gelding has won two of his last three outings and ran another solid race to chase home Mighty Stowaway in handicap company at Punchestown last Sunday.

Roche’s charge does hold an entry in the Troytown Chase this weekend, but would need quite a few to come out to make the final field.

“He ran well again on Sunday. He’s in the Troytown, but it looks highly unlikely that he would get in,” said Roche.

“That was the plan. If he did get in we’d run him, but if not we’ll hopefully run him the first week in December somewhere.

“He wouldn’t race when the ground gets heavy, we wouldn’t run him on that and would give him a little break then.

“He’s a great old horse and has been running well.”
