Guineas hope Monaasib pleasing in his Curragh preparations Trainer Kevin Prendergast and jockey Chris Hayes combined to win the Tattersalls Irish 2000 Guineas at the Curragh with Awtaad in 2016 and they will be hoping to repeat the feat with Monaasib in next Saturday’s renewal. Monaasib was only beaten a length and a half by the English 2000 Guineas winner Poetic Flare in the 2000 Guineas Trial at Leopardstown last month and Hayes is hopeful for a big run. He said: "He ran a good solid race in the Guineas Trial - the form has worked out well. We weren't that far behind the English 2000 Guineas winner (Poetic Flare), so look we're very hopeful and confident of him pitching up and giving a good show of himself. "He ran quite well his first go over a mile last year, just to be touched off by High Definition, so if the rain comes I presume he'll line up and he'd be a very strong ride in it. "He's a very laid-back kind of horse and I think mentally it'll have sharpened him up (the outing in the trial) and we've really seen the difference in him in the homework. "I'm hoping we get a drop of rain during the week and hopefully he'll take his chance."
