Curragh trainer Danny McLoughlin got off the mark for the year when Two At Two sprang a 40/1 surprise at Dundalk yesterday and was on hand to give an update on his smart three-year-old Magny Cours.

The daughter of Awtaad was promoted to a mark of 102 after her most recent start at Chantilly in October, where she was runner-up in the Group 3 Prix Miesque over seven furlongs on ground described as very soft.

"She was back in on the 27th December and she has done very well from her break," said McLoughlin.

"Just going through plans the other day, she will probably go for the Priory Belle (Stakes) in Leopardstown, the Guineas trial over seven furlongs in the last week in March.

"If she doesn't go there, she will probably go to the Prix de la La Grotte at Longchamp in France, on softer ground. That is over a mile and the Guineas trial here is over seven furlongs.

"She is in the French and Irish Guineas, so whatever way it falls on those first two days will tell because the French Guineas is six weeks later. It is ground dependent.

"She has filled out and has got even bigger, which was what I was happy about more than anything. She is a good size filly anyway, but she is kind of a big filly now. She seems to have matured well mentally and she is very simple to do anything with anyway. The fact that she has come back and got straight back into it seems good."
