Halcon Bound For National Service

Halcon Genelardais is on course for the Gala Casinos Daily Record Scottish Grand National at Ayr on Saturday.

Alan King's exciting novice has won all of his three starts over fences, the most recent of which came at Exeter in February when he got the better of Basilea Star by three-quarters of a length.

He will be tackling handicap company for the first time over fences in Scotland's richest contest when he will be racing off a mark of 149.

'Provided the ground isn't too firm then he is definitely going to run,' King said.

'I have spoken to the course today and they tell me they are forecast a lot of rain for Friday, which will be excellent news for me.

'Obviously I wasn't that happy with his handicap mark as it does seem on the high side. But we will still take our chance.'

Halcon Genelardais is a top-priced 14-1 chance with betdirect for the #160,000 feature.
