Halford ponders Toscanini target Toscanini gave Mick Halford food for thought when running a huge race in the Rochestown Stakes at Naas on Monday. The Shamardal juvenile, who carries the Godolphin silks, finished a close runner-up to Kool Kompany in the Listed race on just his second career start, with the well-touted War Envoy behind in third. "I'm very happy with Toscanini and his first run was full of promise too," said Halford. "He'll have come on plenty for that effort at Naas and Royal Ascot is definitely on the agenda. "I'll sit down with the owners and decide on a race but he's proved he's good enough and I'm over the moon."
