Hammond Looking At Irish Derby Vodafone Derby runner-up Walk In The Park could clash with his conqueror Motivator again in the Budweiser-sponsored Irish version on June 26. Both horses also have other options, with Motivator being considered for the Coral-Eclipse at Sandown on July 2, while John Hammond could choose to keep his horse at home in France. Walk In The Park, like Motivator a son of Montjeu, took second after running on well in the final two furlongs to get within five lengths of the winner, and Hammond sent Michael Bell a congratulatory fax 'through gritted teeth'. However, the trainer was not disappointed with the ride given by Alan Munro, and he told At The Races: 'A jockey has to ride a horse as he finds him and as the race develops. He got very upset behind the stalls and he broke a bit slow. 'I suppose in an ideal world he might have ridden him a little bit closer to the pace, but it wouldn´t have changed the result. 'I haven´t had much of a chance to think about plans, but I would have thought possibly the Irish Derby or the Grand Prix de Paris, which is now a mile and a half race for three-year-olds only in the middle of July.' ?
