Harana a maiden no more after decisive success The Dermot Weld trained Harana shed her maiden tag at the fourth time of asking when taking the Lodge At Ashford Castle Maiden at Ballinrobe. Sent off 2/1 under Chris Hayes, the Exors of the Late H H Aga Khan owned four-year-old broke well and, held the box seat just off the leaders. Moving second before the home turn, Harana headed market leader Mano Chicago over a furlong out, pulling clear to win by three-and-a-half lengths. Chris Hayes said: "We rolled the dice at Leopardstown. We knew she wanted better ground, but it was her first handicap, so we let her take her chance but it rained and the ground was too slow for her. "She's done it well here because she's a big-actioned filly and was a hard enough ride on the turns. "She had a nice run first time out last year, but somehow the rest of the season just got away from us. "That's a box ticked now and I'd like to think she can improve back in handicaps.
