Eddie Harty is eyeing the skies ahead of Kilfenora's participation in the Grade B William Fry Handicap Hurdle at the Dublin Racing Festival.

JP McManus' eight-year-old gelding has won his last two starts, in Grade B company, on deep ground at Naas and Navan respectively.

The trainer said: “He’s come out of the race well and he’s in the race at Leopardstown on Sunday where he’s going to be top-weight.

“I have to speak to Frank (Berry, racing manager) and it might not be soft enough for him either. He does handle soft ground well and he jumps very well out of it.

“He’s probably finished in handicaps for a while and maybe we’ll look for something like a Grade 3 down the road.

“Nothing is cast in stone at the moment but he’s earned his place in Grade 3s and Grade 2s with a rating of 152.”
