Haydock frozen out This afternoon's meeting at Haydock has been abandoned due to frost. The seven race card was due to feature three Grade 2 events including the stanjames.com Champion Hurdle Trial and the Peter Marsh Chase. Clerk of the course Kirkland Tellwright had called an 8am inspection but he made an earlier decision after a colder than expected night. "We have abandoned due to frost," he said. "There's no prospect of it coming out in time for racing. We were forecast minus 1C overnight but we actually got minus 4.5C, so we've had to call it off."
