Bint Queen Kindly showed a nice turn of foot late on to make a winning debut for Dermot Weld in the Alkumait At Capital Stud Maiden at the Curragh, giving Chris Hayes a quick double on the card. Copacabana Sands went for home over a furlong out in the seven-furlong contest but couldn’t hold the late charge of the Jaber Abdullah-owned filly.

Bint Queen Kindly found her feet in the closing stages to put her head in front in the last 50 yards and record a length-and-a-quarter win.

The Night Of Thunder filly, who holds an entry in the Irish 1,000 Guineas, was well backed from 8/1 into 2/1 favourite.

“She’d been working nicely, and is potentially a very nice filly,” said Weld.

“Chris gave her a very nice ride. I wanted him to teach her on her first run and she quickened up nicely.

“I think you’ll see an even better performance on better ground. She’ll probably never want firm ground - will always like an ease in the ground.

“She’ll want seven to a mile. There is a lot of speed in the family, and she has a lot of pace.

“We’ll look at a Stakes race for her next and go from there.

“The horses are running well, and we had two nice winners recently in Dundalk.”

Hayes had also taken the previous sprint handicap on Laugh A Minute
