Hazariya Forced To Retire Hazariya is to be retired after suffering a small hairline fracture of the cannonbone during the Darley Irish Oaks on Sunday. The Aga Khan´s filly was taken to the vet´s clinic at the Curragh after being pulled up over three furlongs out by jockey Mick Kinane in the fillies´ Classic, which was won by the owner´s other runner, Shawanda. The injury is believed to be unrelated to the stone bruise on the same leg (off-fore) that had threatened her participation.'She has a little hairline fracture of the cannon. Although it is the same leg as the stone bruise she had it is a totally unrelated incident,' said trainer John Oxx on Monday.'We were happy with her before the race and during it Mick said she was travelling well and about to run a big race when it happened.'She was taken to the vet´s clinic where she will spend the next few weeks. She is fine and will make a full recovery but her racing career is over. She will then go to the Aga´s stud.'It´s a shame but she has done very well for us.'Hazariya, by Xaar out of a Darshaan mare, recorded a Group Three success among her three wins from her previous four starts this season, and had been supplemented for the Curragh showpiece.(C) PA Sport
