John McConnell is eyeing the Future Champions Bumper at Navan for recent impressive winner Heads Up.

The Blue Bresil gelding has improved from run to run and made a big impression when posting a wide-margin success at Punchestown on his third outing.

The Listed prize on December 15th is now on the agenda for the four-year-old

"He was spectacular in Punchestown,” said O'Connell.

"He came out of the race very well and he goes for the Listed bumper at Navan on Sunday week, so hopefully he turns up in the same form.

"He's very immature mentally and I think the slower ground helped him a lot (in Punchestown).

"He's only four as well so he'll run there and whatever happens will dictate what we do.

"If it went well you'd be looking at one of the big bumpers. If he is not good enough for that, we will probably put him away and bring him back as a novice hurdler next season.

"He's a very nice horse no matter what."

McConnell has another bumper winner at Carlisle on Sunday and said of that horse, Camberwell:-

"He's a really nice horse for the future, he's only a four-year-old.

"I think for a UK bumper it was a very strong race, so it was good to get his head in front.

"He'll probably have one bumper run again this season and that will be it then.

"He won't go hurdling until he is a five-year-old."
