Samuel Colt was a taking debut winner of the SP Or Better Guaranteed With Tote Irish EBF Maiden.

The No Nay Never colt raced close to the pace on the heavy ground and was ridden to lead over a furlong out before going away to beat Emerald Eclipse by four and a half lengths.

The winner, sent off 5/2, is trained by Aidan O'Brien for the Coolmore partners.

Stable representative Chris Armstrong said: “He’s a lovely colt who has been coming along nicely in the last few weeks and it was about getting a run into him.

“Seamus was very positive about him. He wasn’t in love with the ground but his class got him through it. When the penny dropped he really lengthened and he’s another lovely colt for next year.

“He’s a big, strong horse and his trip should be six or seven. I think we’ll see a better horse on better ground next year.”
