Hennessy worried about ground for Sublimity

Robbie Hennessy admits the likely soft conditions at Wetherby would be a slight worry as he prepares to saddle Sublimity for the first time in the rearranged WBX.COM "Fighting Fifth" Hurdle at Wetherby.

The 2007 Champion Hurdle hero endured something of a stop-start campaign last season, finishing fourth in the Boylesports.com International at Cheltenham and in the Champion Hurdle itself back at Prestbury Park.

He found only Punjabi too strong when second in the ACCBank Champion Hurdle at Punchestown on his latest outing, and Hennessy believes that rival will again be the one to beat in West Yorkshire on Saturday.

"He travelled over to Wetherby on Thursday with the two other Irish horses (Beau Michael and Harper Valley) and the girl that is over with him is very happy," said Hennessy.

"She says the ground is thawing out nicely and thinks racing should go ahead but obviously it looks like being on the soft side, which would be a bit of a worry.

"He wouldn't want it too soft and I will walk the track in the morning when I arrive and see for myself, but that would be a little bit against us."

Sublimity will be partnered by Andrew McNamara for the first time due to the injury of regular pilot Philip Carberry, but Hennessy does not envisage this proving a problem.

"He is a very straightforward horse and he doesn't take a lot of knowing," Hennessy continued.

"I had a word with Andrew the other day, as had Philip, so there should be no problems there. Andrew is a very good jockey and a clever man.

"You would have to say Punjabi is the one we'll have to keep an eye on, as now the ground has gone slower that will suit him better.

"But our horse is in good form and we are looking forward to the race."
