Gallo Dell Cielo added to a victory here last month when successfully stepping up to two miles in the View Restaurant At Dundalk Stadium Handicap.

Trained by Pat Flynn for Jeffrey Mahany, the easy-to-back 6/1 chance was sent to the front early in the straight and got well on top inside the final furlong.

Robyn Donaghue-Leahy ’s mount had three lengths to spare over Black Gem with Jake Peter a further length and three-quarters back in third.

The winning rider said, “He's starting to settle a lot more now and he's giving himself a chance to get the trip.

"I'd say he is enjoying it. He has a bit more turn of foot than the rest of those two-milers and he is getting plenty of confidence from it.

"I did think he would get it if he just settled, and he did. He's after growing up a lot; he's a lot easier. He's improving anyway.

"Definitely (has more options now) and I'd say it will be up in trip and stay at that trip now. He's definitely a stayer now that he has given himself a chance."
