Gordon Lord Byron's dream season continued as he won the Qatar Prix de la Foret in impressive fashion.

The four year old finished 11th of 15 in a Listed race on his seasonal reappearance when rated just 88, but came into this seven furlong Group One on the back of second place finish in Haydock's Sprint Cup with a mark of 115.

Victory never really looked in doubt for Tom Hogan's charge who picked up readily to mow down Penitent, who had taken up the running from Lethal Force well over a furlong from home.

Penitent just held on for second, running a huge race for David O'Meara and Danny Tudhope on his favoured testing ground, from outsider Kendam, who finished off the race to good effect, but neither posed a serious threat to the William Buick ridden winner who was scoring at the top level for the first time in his career.

Gordon Lord Byron was one of six Irish-bred winners of the nine races at Longchamp today. Arc winner Solemia was also among the six.
