Honesty Policy confirmed the promise of his debut second under Rules to Joystick at Naas last month when going one better in the Navan Ford & Opel Maiden Hurdle.

The Gordon Elliott-trained gelding headed the front-running Icare D’aubrelle after two out at which point Come Walk With Me travelled smoothly to challenge.

However, the 6/4 favourite found generously on the run-in and drew clear under Sam Ewing to beat Come Walk With Me by eight lengths.

The winner’s stablemate St Cuthbert’s Cave couldn’t find any extra from before the last finishing a further four and three-quarter lengths back in third.

Elliott said, "He's a nice horse. The further he goes I'd say the better he will be.

"In fairness, Aubrey (McMahon) bought him out of Pat Doyle's and recommended him to Fran (Mangan, owner), and I was lucky enough that they sent him to me.

"He had a good run the last day in Naas, and he followed up there today.

"We have no real plan, but I'd imagine he is going in the right direction. He will be a nice chaser down the road."
