Galopin Des Champs and Majborough are hot favourites for the feature races at the Dublin Racing Festival on Saturday so editor Vincent Finegan has looked away from the obvious and picked out his two best bets on the day.

Stephen Harris focuses on the UK and serves up his biggest fancy in the feature Scilly Isles Chase at Sandown.

Meetingofthewaters 14:25 Leopardstown, Race And Stay At Leopardstown Handicap Hurdle (0-150) (Listed)

Meetingofthewaters is going to be a relatively short price for this big field handicap hurdle, but cannot be opposed. This is his first start over hurdles since joining Willie Mullins in the Autumn of 2023 and his rating is 37lbs lower over hurdles than fences. To put that into perspective, he carries bottom weight of 10st 2lbs on Saturday, but if this race was over fences he would have to carry 12st 11lbs.

Midnight It Is 16:05 Leopardstown, Ryanair Handicap Steeplechase (0-150) (Listed)

Midnight It Is looks a solid contender in this handicap chase. He arrives in top form and should relish the uphill finish. A last fence mistake didn't help his chances at Fairyhouse last time, but it was still a decent performance and with his stable firing in the winners in recent weeks it is hard to see him out of the frame.

Handstands 2.35 Sandown, Grade 1 Scilly Isles Novice Chase

Ben Pauling’s strapping chaser is an extremely assured jumper despite his relative inexperience, and a positive ride from Ben Jones over these demanding fences should make him very hard to beat. He has really impressed in winning twice this winter, and can handle the jump up into Grade 1 company against rivals who lack his scope to improve.
