HRI Appoints Betting Division Manager

Horse Racing Ireland (HRI) has announced the appointment of Caroline Gray to the position of Manager - HRI Betting Division with effect from 1st September 2005.

This position will cover all aspects of betting with which HRI is involved, other than the Tote, incorporating legislation, technology developments and issues relating to betting exchanges.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, Caroline will have responsibility for the entire operation of the betting division. A chartered accountant by profession, Caroline has spent the last five years working in the HRI Finance Department and has developed a good knowledge and understanding of the betting industry.

Michael Keegan will retain his responsibility for all on-track betting matters in which he has significant experience and a particular expertise.

Brian Kavanagh said: 'Caroline´s appointment represents a recognition of the fundamental importance of the betting aspect of our business (both on-course and emerging technologies) and of the need to strengthen our

resources in that area. I wish her well in this exciting and challenging position'
