HRI Board Appointments The Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism, Mr John O´Donoghue TD, has approved the appointments of John Power, John Moloney and Dan Kirwan to the Board of Horse Racing Ireland (HRI). John Power, a well known Limerick Solicitor and racehorse owner, is the nominee of the Racehorse Owners´ Association replacing Peter McCarthy.John Moloney, the Deputy Senior Steward of the Irish National Hunt Steeplechase Committee (INHSC) and Manager of Galway Racecourse replaces Roy Craigie (INHSC).Dan Kirwan is the Chief Executive of the Irish Stablestaff Association, and has been reappointed for a second term by the Minister as the representative of persons employed directly in the industry.Commenting on the appointments, Minister John O´Donoghue said, ´I am delighted to confirm these appointments to the Board of Horse Racing Ireland, which has set out an ambitious programme of work for the years 2005 to 2007, to continue their work in developing and promoting Ireland as a world centre of excellence for Horse Racing and Breeding´. Commenting on the appointments, HRI Chairman, Denis Brosnan said, ´John Power and John Moloney bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Board of Horse Racing Ireland which will prove invaluable in helping us to implement our Strategic Plan for the industry. Dan Kirwan, is very welcome for a second term on the Board, which he has served with distinction since December 2001.
