Horse Racing Ireland (HRI) will launch a new Racing Administration System (RÁS) next Monday, February 29.

RÁS is a web-based system designed to give HRI clients access to the full range of racing administration tools from tablets and smartphones as well as PCs and laptops.

The new system is designed to make racing administration easier, faster and more efficient for owners, trainers, jockeys and jockey agents. It integrates the current online client accounts and replaces the long-standing Minitel system.

Ireland’s 626 registered trainers will now be able to manage registrations, entries, declarations and financial transactions from any mobile device.

HRI has hosted a series of nationwide seminars to demonstrate RÁS to trainers and it has been enthusiastically received.

Speaking at the Tipperary seminar, Mouse Morris, said: “The new racing system seems very straightforward and I am delighted to now be able to use it on my mobile phone.”

Brian Kavanagh, Chief Executive of HRI, said: “HRI has custom-built a unique horse racing administration system using our own in-house racing and IT expertise in partnership with a leading software development company, Etain.

"The feedback has been very positive and we are confident that the transition will be both easy and efficient for our clients. The new RÁS system is a huge step forward and is fit for purpose for the 21st century.”

Etain Ltd. is a Belfast based software development company.
