Icon Dream could go for Ballysax

David Wachman is considering letting Icon Dream tackle Group company for the first time in the P.W.McGrath Memorial Ballysax Stakes at Leopardstown on Sunday.

The gelded son of Sadler's Wells was an impressive winner on his Tipperary debut in September and the form could hardly have worked out better with the second, third and fourth going on to subsequent success.

Wachman admits his charge faces a much stiffer in this weekend's Group Three event but is looking forward to getting his season under way.

"I need to speak to the owners but I think the plan is for him to run," said Wachman.

"His maiden has worked out well but this is still a step up for him.

"He's also stepping up in trip but I would have thought that would suit as a son of Sadler's Wells.

"It was heavy when he won but that was really all we had last year.

"I would have thought it's going to be decent ground at Leopardstown on Sunday so that is another factor to consider, but we'll know a lot more afterwards.

"All of mine come on for the run so I'd expect him to do to same, but hopefully we'll learn a bit with him and we'll take it one step at a time."
