Van Der Neer is set to be supplemented for Doncaster's Racing Post Trophy after his impressive success at Leicester on Tuesday.

The Richard Hannon-trained colt was a winner on his debut at Yarmouth last month and stepped up on that with a comfortable victory in a conditions race.

He finished a length and three-quarters in front of the well-regarded odds-on favourite Seek Again and jockey Richard Hughes immediately pointed towards the Doncaster Group One on Saturday week as a possible target.

Bruce Raymond, racing manager for owner Saeed Manana, confirmed that the son of Dutch Art will now be added to the field at a cost of £17,500.

He said: "He was a good winner and obviously we were very impressed by the performance.

"The plan is now to supplement him for the Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster and we will see how it goes."
