Ina Mina mining dough Ina Mina (3/1f) defied a hefty 13lb hike in the weights when registering consecutive wins today, landing Tramore’s Frank Gillane Memorial Handicap Hurdle for trainer Terence O’Brien and jockey John Shinnick. Previously successful on the Flat at today’s course in July 2025, the five-year-old mare had scored easily on her handicap hurdle debut at Cork just 13 days ago. Today, the keen-goer pulled her way to the lead after jumping four hurdles and made the rest of the running to score comfortably from Lanzhou . The winner received a typically enthusiastic reception from members of the TerenceOBrien Racing Syndicate. Winning trainer Terence O'Brien reported "Ina Mina had previously won here on the Flat by 15 lengths, so the course suits her. I thought she was well handicapped at Cork but I wasn’t sure about her form. She did it very well again today, so you’d be very happy with her. “We’ll mix between hurdling and Flat for the summer now and it is great for the syndicate. There are 30 in it, we’ve had great luck together and we’ve won with most of our horses. It is a brilliant idea, the syndicate are patient and for handy money, they get a great kick out of it.” Jockey John Shinnick added “I wanted to teach her how to settle but didn’t want to be too far off the pace around here. As I raced down the hill (the first time), the horse outside me set off my mare, so I decided to let her roll in front. I kept filling her every time I could and she did it well in the end.”
