INBA to initiate legal proceedings against Dundalk Racecourse

A meeting of the Management Committee of the Irish National Bookmakers´

Association today, Monday 5 November 2007, decided that, following legal

advice, the Association will initiate legal proceedings against Dundalk

Stadium seeking damages for its members for breach of contract.

In these circumstances it has been decided that it would not be appropriate

for the INBA to engage in a process of Arbitration on the issue of Dundalk.

It was also decided to proceed with a further 'peaceful protest' to

coincide with the race meeting at Dundalk on Friday 30 November. This will

be a protest of individual bookmakers and their staff, who will be

represented by SIPTU.
