Eamonn O'Connell was delighted to saddle a winner in Leopardstown through Curious Bride (12/1) in the Turkish Jockey Club Handicap.

The eight-year-old mare made progress over two furlongs from home and tackled Quiz Test a furlong and a-half down.

She soon led for Conor Cusack and forged on well in the final furlong to see it out by two and three-quarter lengths. No Big Deal stayed on for second at 5/1 and was a length and three-quarters up on The Truant (10/1).

“I thought she was unlucky the last day in Tramore. She got cut off when I thought she was coming to win,” said O’Connell.

“I was confident enough here if the ground dried up for her and it did. She likes good ground.

“She’s in foal to King Of Change, but we’ll keep going for another couple of months. She was late going in foal, as she missed a few times, so we’ve another couple of months.

“There no real plan. We might come back here in two weeks time for the amateur series handicap, she was third in it last year.

“It’s a while since we had a winner here. The last one was probably Powerstation back in the day.”
