Inothewayurthinkin on course for Christmas Gold Cup winner Inothewayurthinkin is on course for Leopardstown’s Savilles Chase over Christmas, with trainer Gavin Cromwell taking positives from his recent seasonal reappearance run. The seven-year-old famously defeated dual-winner Galopin Des Champs at Cheltenham in March and having afterwards been put away for a summer’s break, returned to action in the John Durkan Chase at Punchestown last month. Despite finishing well adrift in fifth-place in Punchestown’s hotly-contested 2m3f 150yds race, Cromwell was satisfied with Inothewayurthinkin’s finishing effort, and he remains on course to follow the same pathway to Cheltenham in March. Cromwell reports "Inothewayurthinkin is good and has come out of the Durkan Chase fine. We are still on target for Christmas. "He was beaten a long way and maybe being a Gold Cup-winner that you'd expect some more but there were plenty of positives. It was an unbelievable pace and two very good horses fought out the finish. "I know he was beaten further at Punchestown this year but he is a little more forward this time. It was more the style of the race this year but I thought he jumped much better than last year and stayed galloping all the way to the line."
