Inspection called for Navan's Saturday fixture An inspection has been called at Navan ahead of tomorrow's scheduled fixture, with temperatures forecast to again drop down low tomorrow night. Brendan Sheridan, Clerk of the Course at Navan, this morning said “following significant snowfall overnight, the track at Navan is unfit for racing at the moment. There was 20mm of rain throughout the day yesterday so prior to the snow, the ground was soft to heavy. “Temperatures are set to rise throughout today. However temperatures are to drop again this evening and could get as low as -3 tonight so we have called an inspection for 7.30am tomorrow to determine our prospects of racing.” Naas, which also races on Sunday, is also currently unfit for racing due to a covering of snow overnight. The track was soft yesterday following 13mm of rain since entries. No more snow is forecast although it is set to remain cold today and tonight, and turning warmer tomorrow with 7-10mm rain into Sunday. The going at Gowran, following 9mm of rain and snow overnight, is now soft ahea dof tomorrow's fixture with the forecast being a mainly dry with some passing showers. At Limerick, there has been 19mm of rain since entries with the going, ahead of Sunday's fixture, now soft and an unsettled forecast with the possibility of some heavy showers ahead.
