Irish 2,000 Guineas now the plan for Hotazhell A late withdrawal from the French 2,000 Guineas at ParisLongchamp on Sunday, Hotazhell will now be rerouted to the Irish equivalent at the Curragh on May 24th. Successful at the highest level as a juvenile, the Jessica Harrington-trained bay has yet to be seen this term, with the drying ground conditions to blame for his absence at the weekend. "Hotazhell will go to the Curragh for the Irish 2,000 Guineas," Kate Harrington revealed. "It was disappointing going over to France and having to take him out but it was just too fast, and post-race it was backed up how quick the ground was by breaking the track record. "Shane rode in the race before for Tony Martin and said it was pretty firm. "With it being his first run of the season and the Curragh around the corner, there was no point in risking it." Harrington also gave an update on Green Impact, who was last seen finishing sixth of 11 in the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket. "He will probably go for the French Derby," she disclosed. "He pulled a shoe at Newmarket but is back cantering and is in good nick." Additional reporting by Alan Magee
