A pair of Irish raiders are among 12 declared for the opener at Southwell this afternoon, the Listed BetUK Hever Sprint Stakes.

The Adrian Murray trained-Valiant Force and Danny Murphy's Ostraka are the horses in question, with the former successful on two of his last three starts at Dundalk.

Speaking after registering a double at the Co Louth venue on Friday evening, Murray said: "We have to run him because he is in great order. He's been absolutely tearing the place down, he's in that good form.

"He has really taken well to the Polytrack.

"He is going to run a big race.

"David Egan is on him and he knows the horse well."

James Ryan takes the ride on Mercury Stakes winner Ostraka, with this five-year-old one of two mares in the line-up.

Successful in this very contest 12-months ago, Diligent Harry is sure to have plenty of supporters, while the hat-trick seeking Marshman is another leading hope.
