Irish raid at Sedgefield this afternoon

Six Irish trained horses cross the Irish Sea to do battle at Sedgefield this afternoon. Jim Dreaper, James Lambe and Stuart Crawford all with two runners apiece.

Each of the aforementioned trainers are represented in the second race on the card, the Paxtons & Independent Twine For Bale Products Maiden Hurdle.

Campbell Gilles takes the ride on the Stuart Crawford trained two time point-to-point winner Farfields.

Her wins came in November of last year at Marlin and in April of this year at Loughanmore.

On her track debut she finished a well beaten fifth, when putting in some awkward jumping, behind Oh So Beautiful at Cartmel when sent of the 7/2 second favourite.

James Lambe's runner Quivvy Bridge has two poor maiden hurdle runs to his name, while Jim Dreaper's runner, Leroy Lately failed to score in five attempts in point-to-points.

Paddy Powers have installed Farfields at 12/1, Leroy Lately at 16/1 with Quivvy Bridge at 25/1

The now 12yo Retrievethelegend lines up in the third race for Jim Dreaper, which is a handicap hurdle over 3m 3f.

The grey son of Flying Legend has four wins to his name in his long career and is not without his chance here, with his jockey taking a valuable seven pound off his top weight of 11-12.

Stuart Crawford is represented by Maolisa in the race who is not without her chance either, having won a point-to-point and a three mile handicap hurdle at Perth so far in her career.

Crawford was due to run Maid In Moscow in the race as well, who won her last three, however she has been taken out this morning.

Retrievethelegend has been friendless in the betting this morning with Paddy Powers, drifting from 15/2 out to 10/1, while Maolisa has remained unchanged from her opening show at 18/1.

The last Irish raider of the day comes in the fourth race on the card the Collins Seafood Handicap Chase where James Lambe's Canal Cottage lines up in the seven runner field.

This 7yo by Winged Love is having just his third run for Lambe having been previously with Lucinda Russell.

Having opened at 5/1 with Paddy Powers, he is now out to 11/2, for this ordinary contest.
