Irish runners abroad this weekend - Watch out for the Tony Martin gamble at Donny There are four Irish raiders heading to Britain on Saturday afternoon to take their chance on an action-packed day at Doncaster. We assess their chances on what is a competitive day of racing in Yorkshire for Saturday afternoon's Doncaster card. Blixen Force - Doncaster 1.20 Ocean Club - Doncaster 1.20 Blixen Force & Ocean Club - Doncaster 1.20 Amo Racing love to target the opening 5f Brocklesby Stakes at Doncaster (1.20), but this year Irish handler Robson De Aguiar is responsible for both of their entrants, notably Blixen Force who has been strong in the betting for the contest and is a clear favourite. Bought for 30,000euros as a foal and then for £110,000 as a yearling, the colt is a son of Persian Force, who won this race impressively for Richard Hannon in 2022 before going on to win a Group 2 and place at the highest level. His dam is a sister to the Group-placed 5f winner Show Me Show Me and, with a pedigree like this, it's no surprise to see him so strong in the market. De Aguiar's other runner is not without a chance too. Ocean Club is also a son of Persian Force and was bought for 33,000euros as a yearling. His dam is a half-sister to French 1m3f winner Lady Lilnoi, and is a granddaughter of French Oaks winner West Wind. The market will certainly separate these two closer to the off. Far From Dandy - Doncaster 2.25 Another relatively new trainer on the block is Stephen Thorne and he sends Far From Dandy across to take his chance in the Spring Mile and his credentials have been enhanced with the booking of Colin Keane in the saddle. The four-year-old won over this trip as a juvenile at Yarmouth when trained by George Boughey and also took out a pair of Dundalk contests over this trip during the winter for his current yard, so a mile and proper a quick surface is what he clearly enjoys. Far From Dandy was a massive eyecatcher in the Irish Lincoln at the Curragh earlier this month when a fast-finishing fourth of 25 on unsuitable heavy ground. He will have slightly better ground here all going well and has to be considered as a solid each-way bet running off the same mark in Britain. Orandi - Doncaster 3.32 A market watch is advised for Orandi who will run in the valuable Lincoln and although this boy has been out of form for a while, it would be no surprise at all to see plenty of money come for him on Saturday. Irish trainers have an horrendous record in the race admittedly, but he was sent off an 11/2 chance when tailed off in the Irish equivalent earlier this month under Ryan Moore. Clearly he was expected to run a much better race than he did, but he finished a close third in this race last year from 1lb lower and top claimer Jack Kearney takes off 3lb, so he looks well in at his best.
