Irish trio in Arc Three Irish contenders will go for gold in the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp on Sunday. The fillies Found and Tapestry from Aidan O'Brien's Ballydoyle yard and Dermot Weld's Free Eagle will take on French superstar Treve, who is bidding to make history by landing her third Arc. Golden Horn has been added to the field, with owner Anthony Oppenheimer stumping up the 120,000 euros as expected. While the huge cost would put some people off, Golden Horn has paid for himself after victories in the Derby, Eclipse and Irish Champion Stakes already this season. Also supplemented were Shahah, as a pacemaker for Treve, and Spiritjim. That means a field of 18 is likely for Europe's most prestigious race. John Gosden has taken out Jack Hobbs but as well as Golden Horn, he still has Eagle Top in the race. They are the only two contenders from Britain. The other withdrawal was Freddy Head's Migwar. Heading the home team, along with Treve, are Andre Fabre's French Derby winner New Bay and his stablemate Flintshire. Dolniya, Erupt and Prince Gibraltar are others in the mix.
