Ivawood has Curragh option Ivawood could cross swords with Gleneagles again in the Irish 2,000 Guineas at the Curragh at the end of the month. A smart sprinting juvenile last term, Richard Hannon's colt stepped forward from his Newbury return to make the frame in the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket, proving his stamina for a mile in the process. "No excuses, but Ivawood might have been a bit closer to the first two if we had been drawn high, and that surely puts to bed the theory that he won't stay the mile as he ran a super race," Hannon told www.richardhannonracing.co.uk. "Gleneagles looks a proper horse, but we were delighted with Ivawood and we'll see how he comes out of the race before deciding whether to go for the Irish 2,000 Guineas or wait for Royal Ascot." Moheet, who finished eighth in the Guineas, is also a possible for the Curragh, while Craven winner Kool Kompany, who set the Newmarket pace before fading into 13th place, is likely for the Jersey Stakes. Guineas disappointment Estidhkaar will not run on fast ground again with connections putting his display down to the quick conditions. Having finished second in the Greenham, Hamdan Al Maktoum's colt looked sure to be involved in the Classic but he trailed home in 14th place and will now be saved for easier conditions. "Moheet could also be a possible for Ireland. He lost his chance with that slow start and then had trouble getting through the pack, but he was running on at the end and he is still maturing so we have plenty to look forward to with him," said Hannon. "The Guineas was always going to be tougher than the Craven for Kool Kompany, who found a strong-run mile against top-class company a bit too much for him, but he remains a smart horse and looks tailor-made for the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot. "The disappointment of the four was Estidhkaar, who was never travelling. We were worried that the ground might be drying up too much for him and he'll have a break now and wait for the rains to return."
